Just approved for disiabilty have questions
I just had my social security hearing and the Judge made a bench decision in my favor, my questions are about Medicare.

I read that you have to be receiving disability benefits for 24 months, at that point you will automatically receive, Medicare part A and B, and you will be paying the $96.80 premium for part B, they will be back paying me for almost 30 months, will the past 24 months of those 30 count toward my my 24 month period required to receive Medicare ? I will not hit 65 during of this time, I am only 50.

    OR

Will I have to apply for Medicad, for 2 years until I receive 24 months of disability pay ?

Thanks for any insight you might be able to share..

What they did with a friend of mine (he only had to wait 12 months) was after the 12 months they just started deducting the $98.
In the meantime, during the 12 months he had NO insurance and was in pain

what they did with my son, was no insurance.. been two years and now if he wants any coverage he has to pay $89 month out of check.

You would think that if someone is disabled, they would get free medical. Or at least that is the way I feel about it.

No way to make any money for extra expenses... and government doesn't give much for disability anyway.. he was having grand mal seizures at least 6 x month due to injury and they would just send him home and tell him to contact his doctor..

Yeah I do think they use to automatically give you free coverage. When my friend told me that change I could not believe it. He had to suffer for one whole year with horrible muscle spasms because he could not afford any health insurance. I have to wonder how people on life sustaining meds manage.
