What to do for a laminate floor that makes clicking sound when it's humid
We installed a Pergo laminate floor in the kitchen several years ago. This wide plank laminate had the pad already attached to the floor boards. It looks beautiful still and for the first 4 years we had no problems. In the last 2 years, the floor makes a clicking sound when we walk on it if it's humid. What can we do?

Sorry but there isn't much you can do short of taking the floor up and replaying it. Laminate is less susceptible to humidity than hardwoods but its not totally moisture proof. Your floor swells in humid conditions, actually makes the floor foot print slightly larger, this creates stress. When you walk on the floor you release the stress, thus the clicking. In a small inconspicuous area you might try rubbing in talcum powder or graphite powder to see if you can lubricate the wood. I am not expecting much relief. Flooring laid in dry conditions can expand, laid in damp conditions it shrinks, that's why you need to leave a 1/4" border around the edges of the room.
