    Writ of Execution in Pennsylvania
My husband has a writ of execution against him and I am not on it at all and the sheriff is coming tomorrow i.e. August 5, 2008 (Tuesday) to serve the papers and to explain what property they can take. My question is I owned all the stuff in the house prior to our marriage in 1998 and I don't want to lose all my stuff as this is not my debt and the only thing my husband truly owns outright is a Ford Ranger pickup truck and a very old boat that does run. I don't want them to freeze my bank account as that is my account that I opened up in 1998 and added him when we got married in November of 2001. I am literally making myself sick over this whole situation and we do not have the money to retain an attorney. Can someone please tell me what they can take??

They can take anything he owns individually or jointly - so I would be prepared to prove what is yours.

And, yes, if the bank account is in joint names (no matter who opened it), it can be seized.
