If it is does that mean usually he would give me an accual engagement ring? How much does it cost usually? What's the cheepest and the most expensive someone would spend on one? why dont you bring it to appraiser so you can check out yourself? It depends on quality, cut and clarity if its diamond. I dotn know for silver and gold but Im sure it has some standards too.

My finacee paid like 150 for my promise ring.. it was just a simple ring.. most of them are not really expensive, I was dating mine for 7 months when he gave it to me.. with the promise to be engaged.. that's all a promise ring is.. the promise that one day you will be engaged.. I really wouldn't worry how much he spent on it, it is the thought that counts..
