About 13 months ago my little brother was at his friends house working on his wife's car when his friends house was raided for drugs. He was searched and so was his wife's car , they found nothing and told him he could leave. He was on probation at the time and his probation officer didn't do anything either. (He is off probation now)
Now all this time later he is being charged with distributing and possession of drugs (as of 7-28-08) And his old probation officer wants to violate him (as of 8-1-08)
I don't understand how they can do this... He hasn't been questioned about any of this since that night

Sometimes an investigation can take a looooong time and subsequently a person thought to be innocent early on can later turn and become a material person in the investigation... even becoming guilty of a crime. So it doesn't surprise me that your brother was not a suspect in the beginning but now he is being charged with a crime.

Bottom line is this: he's your brother so naturally you are concerned for him. Love him or not, if he's guilty then he's guilty. I'm afraid that when people are caught up in things that they shouldn't be, they tend to exhonerate themselves of any wrong-doing and family members generally want to give their loved ones the benefit of the doubt, right? But your brother has already been on probation before so it's highly likely given his past that he could have been involved once again in something that he shouldn't have. After all, people don't end up on probation for helping little old ladies across the street.

You have to be willing to look past your brother as being your brother and be concerned for what the truth is... I say that because whenever family members allow a loved one to get away with trouble, they are hurting him or her more than loving him/her. You understand what I mean? Love your brother and love the truth... don't allow him to deceive you into thinking there isn't a problem when they're might very well be. That is real love, sister.
