I have a birthmark under my eye that I want removed, I wanted to try Liquid Nitrogen, would this be a good solution? If not, what else can I use without having laser surgery.

Your Dr. will be the best judge of the best removal option, as Liquid Nitrogen does not work on everything. Is your Dr. saying either way is an alternative for yours? The other option is a minor outpatient surgery of simply cutting it out. Was this option not mentioned?
No, cutting it out was not an option mentioned. What does that process entail?
That would be simply removing it with a scalpel. You might ask your Dr. about this option and why he is not recommending it in your case.
I believe the answer will probably be that lasers have simply replaced scalpels in many instances where a scalpel used to be the norm.
Frankly, I'm surprised that he's not recommending one over the other (laser vs. freezing)... or at least giving you enough information about the differences between the two to help you decide.
I'd ask him flat out: Which method would he choose if it were him - and why.
What is the mark... is it like a mole?
If this is what you're talking about, they freeze the tissue and then remove it... it is usually covered with something like a bandaid. The result in the end often is not exactly the same color as the surrounding skin... you can still see a blemish, but compared to the mole it might look much better.
No, its not like a mole, it's a dark spot, not raised or anything
Well, as rickj mentioned, talk to your doc for the best options.
Daughter had a dark blemish removed from the upper part of her chest, above where the bra would be. It looks better now, but you can see the difference if you look carefully... not as continuously smooth as the other skin and maybe a touch lighter... but again, it looks much better than before and most people wouldn't know it was there if they hadn't seen the previous birthmark.
A birthmark is a splotch on the skin, which can appear in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. While some birthmarks are small and inconspicuous, others have a more prominent appearance. Laser Surgery is used to remove birthmarks from the skin. Nenet97, it is best that you talk to a dermatologist. You should research and understand different issues like what the procedure can and cannot treat, inherent risks, costs, and other factors.
