My daughter is 15 now I have never received any child support before last week.. now I do not have custody of my girl my sister does now all of the sudden they pick him up for back support.. which is not need I do not have our child.. how does he go about signing off his rights which is what he wants to do and which is fine with me . I was fia for 2 years is that all he'll have to pay back if he signs off?

Why can't you keep the child support and invest it for your daughter. Now that she is l5, she will need it for educational purposes. I know it won't last long, but at least it will be a start for her. Maybe she will turn around and invest it again when she gets a bulk sum.

What State? It varies.

In most cases he cannot "sign off" his rights unless someone else is ready to adopt the child. Even if he "signs off" that does not excuse his child support responsibilities. He owes back and continuing support.

Who is suporting your child? Couldn't your sister use the extra money - if your sister has custody, she is entitled to the child support. It is no longer your issue.

I've talk my sister about the support check my daughter don't want them she said I know he my dad that's all I want and he knows this we just want him out of the picture there allot of water under this bridge.. we done it for 15 years we can do it 15 more with out him.. but we don't understand how does he still have rights if he never signed ANY paper on her @ all . I don't have guardianship of her, which all this was 7 years ago.. he wants to leave it alone but doesn't know how or what to do...

If he never signed ANY paperwork EVER then why would he have to sign away his rights? Didn't he sign when she was born or did you have to go to court to have a court ordered DNA test done to have the order of support done?

First why don't you have custody, who gave custody of the4 child to someoneelse.

Next no he can not just sgn over his rights, and the other issue is how did someone other than you get custody, without his permission.
But anyway, even If the judge would allow him to sign over his rights, he would still owe child support. But the support will go normally to the person with custody.

Then put the support in the bank for her college education - a 15 year old is making this decision?
