My floor near the bathtub has traces of water seeping up between the tile laminates whereas it is now making the carpet next to the bathroom entrance soaking wet. If I place a towel on top of the small crack eventually the towel will absorb a lot of water making it dripping wet. I squeegee the water off the shower tiles and glass doors, so is it being absorbed by the grout and accumulating underneath? Thanks

If I understand you correctly...

I would have you start by removing the tub/shower valve handle and trim plate, and look in behind the wall to see if the tub/shower valve is leaking.

You need to remove the handle and trim plate, get a flashlight and then run the tub and shower while looking behind the wall to see if any water appears from above (from shower arm) or at shower valve (diverter)... or if nothing there at valve, may be able to HEAR dripping from behind wall.

Any chance there is an access panel behind the tub/shower valve in a closet or similar? If so, then I would have you remove the access panel and again run the tub and shower and see if you can see anything from there...

If nothing else, IF you have an access panel you can also determine if water is getting by the grout lines and overflowing the rim of the tub. Here, you would use flashlight and you would see DRIP STAINS on the backside of tub.

What kind of shape is your grout in? Any missing? Even microcracks can cause major issues depending on condition of wall under the tiles...

Anyway, start there... look around at all areas mentioned above. Then get back to us with as much info. As you can... ok?

You could also have a under slab pressure leak. To check to see if you have a hidden leak first shut down everything in the house, no flush, no drinks of water, and if you are on a meter go out and check the little pointer in the gage. It should not move or creep. If it does you have a leak. If you're on a pump then check the pressure gage after the pump builds up to pressure and shuts off. The gage should not fall and the pump come back on. If so then you have a leak. Hope this helps and thank you for rating my reply, Tom
