    Narnia, movie
I watched the movie Narinia today, first I would not recommend it for younger children, my 5 year old left the room because it was too scary.

But I have been hearing this movie hyped as a Christian movie. Ok, where do we get the relationship to Christinaity except for the good vs evil idea.

The lion coming back to life had been related in some posts I have read as being a symbol of Christ, but I just did not get it.

So am I missing something ?

What has been your take on it,

You're right. It's a fun mix of Christian, mythology and fairy tale themes and more. Nothing folk should get bent out of shape about.

Yes, not down on the movie, I guess I was just expecting so much more, I was sort of let down.

Good work on making these 1/2 man 1/2 animal creatures, and the talking beavers were funny, but I guess I was expecting some deep level moving movie that would be a marked spot in my life.

Guess I was wondering if I just missed it somewhere.

Yeah Fr Chuck I have a thread in here too about the Narnia movie, saying basically the same thing as you. I thought it was good, but I don't see the Christianity in it or why in the world people would criticize it for being too Christian. Plus I agree with you about it being violent and scary. My 4 year said he liked it, but he was scared about the White Witch and the wolves when it was time to go to bed. I liked the acting of the children, though... I use "children" loosely though haha... in real life, the older 2 actors are 18 and 19 years old! Actually it kind of reminded me of Lord of the Rings, except not as good.

Have you seen the British film versions of the books? I think they are from the 80s or early 90s, as I watched them when I was a kid. They are lower budget, but also a lot "gentler". If you can rent them where you live you might consider that for your 5 year old. I'm actually trying to buy the whole series for my children right now.

Btw did you guys know that there's going to be a sequel in 2007? It's going to be based on the book "Prince Caspian".

Well it is about one hour to bedtime, I hope the witches and the such don't keep us all awake tonight

How is Nate doing now Fr Chuck? Levi is still spooked and it was hard getting him to bed tonight. Definitely not a show for younger children!
