Do I have any parental rights if my name is not on my son's birth certificate?
    Hello,

I need to know if I have any parental rights if my name is not on my son's birth certificate but, he has my last name. His mother is going to let another man adopt my son and I need to know if I have any rights as the father.

You need to file for a paternity test asap and do not sign anything they ask you to.

Yes, you have rights, as long as you pursue them.

Get a lawyer, get a paternity test done.

She can NOT have someone adopt without you signing away your rights. If she thinks she can, a lawyer will have a field day overturning that adoption.
