    Civil penalty/no funds
I had a business in real estate in which I was assessed a fine and lost my license due to something one of my employees had done, now the state of Indiana is sueing me for the fine, which is more than I can afford to pay and I have no job since they revoked my license.
I also no longer live in Indiana as I now reside in Florida, and can not go back and forth for court dates, I have been corresponding however I have no legal education and can not afford an attorney, so if they win a judgement against me and I can not pay and I have no job can they freeze my checking account which is in my husbands name as well as mine? And since I filed bankruptcy but did not include this fine because I had no knowledge of it can they even continue to harrase me?

Yes, they can freeze the joint account.

They can also put a lien against any property you own, or co-own, if they obtain a judgment.

If your bankruptcy is not yet discharged, you could speak to your attorney about amending the case by adding this fine, if it is even able to be discharged.

If your bankruptcy is discharged, I'm afraid you are on the hook for this.

Last question first - only the debts listed on the bankruptcy petition are discharged in bankruptcy.

And, yes, anything you own individually OR jointly can be seized.
