I need to house train my dog without a crate.its me or the dog.
Iam in need of some very necessary advice.I have a six month old Pugshire. She is very affectionate and playfull. My girlfriend has just given birth and my pup is not house trained. My entire house is a wee wee pad to her.My girlfriend is fed up but I will never in a million years get rid of my pup.I know with a little hard work she'll be fine.I have a three year old pom who is great and they are best of friends. Please I will greatly appreciate the help this is an emergency. Thank You.

Without a crate? It is going to be challenging. But I think it can be done. :)
I would limit fluid intake after a certain time of day. Make sure you are taking the dog out and not coming in until she has done her business. Then give her lots and lots of praise. Maybe a small treat to go with it.

May I ask why you don't want to crate train the dog?

I never used a crate to train my dog,I used this spray that you spray on newspaper an the smell is similar to wee! They recognise the smell so then do there business on the paper, you then gradually move the newspaper to the back door,an they'll soon learn that they have to go outside.
It won't work with all dogs but give it a try,I'm trying it out on my new puppy now so fingers crossed.

I currently have a 3.5 month old rottie I personally suggest you get a crate and start from there.. even if you can borrow one and give it a days try out and see how it works for you.. remember if you teach your dog or puppy to do it's business in the house and then praise it, it would rapidly learn that what its doing is the correct thing to do and eventually you will get fed up and it becomes more difficult to break that type of habit.
