My neighbours threatened to go to the council?
I posted a bulletin on here asking for help about my puppy digging && finally he has slowed down how much he digs && has been pretty good lately not trying to get out or dig but sometimes when I'm not home I have to have him on the lead so he dsnt get out (my house is next to a main road) and get hit by a car or stolen, he hasn't had 2 have been on the lead today only this morning, but the past couple of days he has been on the lead when I can't watch him (not all day or a very long time.) but today when I was at school my neighbour came over && lectured my mum about eli being on the lead ( the lead being about 4 metres long, in shade with food && water.) saying that he was going 2 go to the council && saying smart sarcastic stuff. When they should be the 1s reported to the council because they're little yappy dogs don't shut up. =( I'm worried about going to school tomorrow because my mum isn't going to be home & the sarcastic stuff he said about us && we shouldn't have our dog, and also eli lost his collar somewhere in the yard && I can't find it that means if the council comes to check up on there complaint he won't have his collar with his registration tag on. I'm pretty annoyed about the way he spoke to my mum & what he said. && its not like eli is on the lead everyday for a long period, I only started putting him on there the other day so he doesn't get out && get hit by a car or stolen.. should I be worrying about this? Or there's nothing 2 worry about.. he isn't locked away in a yard all day either I walk him every afternoon after skool till it gets dark. Which is lyk an hour an a half 2 2 hours. Well take care...

You should write a list of approximately what hours you have him on the lead.
Do you keep him in the house at all?
I think it might be a good idea to have him in the house as much as possible especially when nobody is home until this gets settled at least.
Buy a collar asap too. A harness type would probably be best.
Some people just like harassing people by turning them in for their dogs when it is unfounded (no reason) hopefully they will see that.

thank you, yes he comes inside when my little sister naps because she tries 2 play with him and he gets excited. His with me now = ] I found his collar this morning in a hole he had dug so his got his tags on now = ] but today my mum came 2 pick me up from school & because no 1 was home she put him on the lead && when we got home he was off =S the collar nor lead were broken or chewed? Hopefully this will all be settled, he has only been on the lead about an hour today all up, we also brought a spray that deteres dogs && cats from digging etc & isn't poisonous, so far its working & he hasn't dug. = ] take care.

A lot depends on your situation. If the town has passed an ordinance banning dogs on leads, then your neighbor can report you if your dog is tied out on one. Further, I will point out that being on a lead will not stop someone from stealing your dog if they really want to. If you are going to be keeping your dog outside a lot, you'd be better off with an outdoor run.
