Tenant says she does not have to pay
I just gave my tenant 30 days notice to move. She says she does not have to give me me the rent for the coming month. Is this true? She say she only has to give me a couple day of rent at a time. I say she needs to pay for the month and I will prorate if she leaves early. Who is right.

You are right she is responsible for the rent for as long as she is there,

This is correct. But all you can do at this point is tell her that, IN WRITING, and if she doesn't comply evict her or sue her.

As noted you are right. But if she doesn't pay, you can withhold the rent owed from any security deposit.

Yes, and hopefully there's no damage that needs to come out of it!:(

I think that is what the tenant is thinking is take it out of the security deposit but that is not the way it works... although I have done that a couple of times when I was moving and I KNEW the landlord was going to cheat me out of my deposit.
