    Kitten hit by car
I picked up a kitten after it had been run over on the highway and I am trying to make her as comfortable as possible. She had no broken limbs, no blood (external or in mouth or ears). After she regained some strength, she began walking (very wobbly) in circles and on the top of her paws, not using the pads underneath. My vet suggested she may have a brain or spinal injury and after inspection suggested that she be given a cortisone shot to see if
The pressure in her brain could be reduced. He said that she should regain some of her equilibrium and possibly her sight and coordination. When I got her home she began trying to climb frantically(still blind and very uncoordinated) – to the point of exhaustion, then she lies grunting or moaning and breathing erratically. I feel like she is in pain but cannot return to the vet until tomorrow. She is in a small laundry room surrounded by towels etc and has still caused scrapes and bleeding on her nose, she seems to want to keep her head up, and against something. What do I do?

Ask the vet if that doesn't work if the kitten should be put to sleep. If she can't recover.

She may be very scared, if she can't see and she is in an unfamiliar place . I suggest folding a towel like a pillow and putting it under her chin while she's lying down so it can support her head. Take her back to the vet tomorrow. Hope she gets better and please keep us posted.
