    Trimmer Will Not Start
Weed Eater Trimmer - Model FX25 featherlite.
    1) Gasoline will fill the primer bulb.
    2) Took off carburetor and soaked it in gasoline overnight.
    3) Cleaned muffler screen, etc.
    4) Cleaned filter,
    5) Restall carburetor with a new gasket.
    6) Install new spark plug.

    Unit still will not start.
It seem as if the gasoline from the carburetor is not reaching the cylinder(?)
    In order to start.

The tip of the spark plug remains dry; regardless how much the carburetor is primed.

    I need your help badly!

    Thanking you in advance,
    Richard Bonner

I had the same problem with a chain saw. I found the fuel lines and the primer bulb were dried out and cracked. They look like spaghetti, and really needed smaller fingers than mine to do. I used some needle-nosed pliers, and some forceps to reach in there and put new ones on. It works great now.

    Good Luck.

Gasoline won't work to disolve gum deposits. Only carb cleaner will.

I did spread carburetor cleaner in all the holes on the carburetor.

Thank you for your quick respond.

Take it apart and clean with carb cleaner.

I took it (carburetor) apart to begin with and cleaned it with carb cleaner, before first asking for help.

After receiving your respond today; I took it apart again and soaked it in carb cleaner for about 2 hours and then cleaned it.

    Still will not start.

By the way, this trimmer is only about 8 months old and used only for home use, about twice a month.

To begin with, the carburetor appeared to be clean.
