    480 v 3 phase
I'm a fairly new plant technician.. but our company just purchased a rotary die cutter that requires 480v 3 phase at 30 amps our plant only has 220V 3 phase.. What kind of transformer do we need to step up the voltage like that.. I believe that we will be drawing 60 amps from 220 correct?

Are you sure the actual voltage is 220 ? Are you sure it is not 208 Volt?

In any case a standard dry type transformer, of the KVA that will serve 30 amps, connected reverse will work.

Do you know how to calculate KVA?
What is the actual nameplate amps of the unit?
If a motor what is the HP?
What is the LRA of the motor?

Double check the actual voltage and answer the questions above and we can go from there

Calculate the kva... take the ratios of the new and the old... u will get the amount of turns required to be built in the transformer..
