i don't know about my wireless adapter
OK so I've had my computer for about 5 years now and I've had the wireless NETGEAR adapter ever since. It worked fine then... but its just crap now. My dad has the same computer, he has wirelss and his works fine. But that's probably because he's got the router. But my problem is my wirless always cuts out for about a minute, then it connects again. Its soooo ANNOYING!! And every once and awhile... it cuts out for about 3 weeks, maybe a month. I've talked to some people about ti and some say it's the adapter that's too old... and some say its my computer.

but my real problem is here that my dads router is set up for linksys. And when I connect it to linksys, it works but its slow. But once and awhile, linksys doesn't connect so I connect it to corvette and it works even better. What I don't understand is that when I connect it to linksys, its vey slow and it cuts out a lot, when I go on myspace... it cuts out when I go on people's profiles, but it works on mosts sites, and it won't let me watch YouTube vids because the red bar doesn't go.

but when I connect it to corvette... its much faster, it can connect toANY site, evn YouTube. But my dads not set up for corvette... so I don't get it. But I really want to stay on corvette instead of linksys.

can somebody help me please?! =)

Perhaps your adapter has failed and needs replacement.

Huh? Don't you both connect to the same wireless router? In same household, etc.

Old doesn't necessary imply faulty. Old may imply incompatible-ish if you are running a first generation A/B adapter and the latest whiz-bang N router.

Anything is possible when speculating without action.

Linksys = router or linksys = your dad's wireless adapter?

I'm unfamiliar with corvette devices apart from the Chevy product (and Google seems to be too), but if it works, use it.

Perhaps, if you would post additional decipherable specific information as to your network architecture and device models.
