Moving drain in custom shower, whirlpool tub and toilet on concrete slab
I am finalizing plans to update a master bathroom that sits on a concrete slab.
My question is: can shower, whirlpool tub and toilet drain holes be moved without drilling into the concrete? If so, what is the maximum amount that the holes can be repositioned without having to drill?
I would need to move the shower and tub hole app. 15 inches and the toilet hole app. 5 feet.
Importance of drain hole centered in custom tiled shower floor
How important is it that the drain hole be centered on the custom tiled shower floor? I would like to change the dimensions of my custom shower from 4' x 5' to 3 1/2' x 6', primarily to comfortably accommodate a tile bench. The drain hole will then be off center by app. 15 inches. As long as the floor is properly sloped toward the drain from all sides, is it a big deal to be off center? I assume a flexible shower pan membrane (vs an inflexible shower base) will be used under the tile floor.
Sincerely
