Irregular Periods and getting Pregnant ?
    Hello,

I am having irregular periods. After a consultation from a doctor, I was prescribed Yasmin (Pills) to regulate my periods. I am on yasmin since last 4 years now and having a regular normal 28 day-cycle. Between these 4 years, I stopped taking yasmin for a couple of times to check that, whether I am getting periods on my own. But it didn't work at all. So, its like when I am on Yasmin I am having regular periods and When I am off from it, I don't have periods at all.

I have been married for 4 years now. Since, we are try to get pregnant, I am off from yasmin since last 3 months (i.e. since, May 2008) but no positive results. Since, I am having irregular periods and have to be dependent on pills to regulate it, how would everything (to conceive) work for me ? Have already heard of ovulation kits and recording basal body temperature. But keeping track of all these measures (i.e. natural method to conceive a baby) does really work ?

    Thanks.

You have been only trying 3 months. If you don't wish to spendd more time check with a fertility doc

Ya, its been only 3 months, but as I mentioned earlier that I already know that I am having irregular cycles and have to depend on pills to regulate it. So, may be I am not ovulating as other women do ovulate ( the one having normal 28 day cycle ) between their 10-15 day after the first day of their last period.

    Thanks.

Another factor is when women use BC for long periods.. they take a while to become fertile again.

First off, it is not uncommon for a woman who is regular not to get pregnant up to a year of trying, and you have only been trying for 3 months.

Second of all, it takes time for the synthetic hormones that are in the birth control pill (yaz in your case) to wear off and for your own body to begin to make its own again.

Don't give up hope, I didn't have a period for over 2 years and I have a beautiful 14 year old daughter now.
