    Lien on house
Hopefully I am in the right spot. Let me briefly explain the situtation, about 8 years ago,we voluntary surrendered our truck, of course they said it was repo, coundn't afford to pay for something we didn't have. Now about a year ago they sold that debt to a collection agency which they hired a lawyer and then he filed a claim against us, we called the lawyer and made arrangements to pay $100 a month, so we did'nt have to go court, we still make that payment every month, now my husband is trying to refianance his house and they are saying there's a lien on it.. can they still put a lien on the house even thought we agree to pay them monthly? Will that interfere with him refianancing the house? Anyone one has any advice to help. Thanks

Yes, they can and the lien will most probably stay there until the debt is paid. Once they release the lien they cannot be certain they will get paid.

And, yes, it may interfere with the refinancing.

Thank you for your input, hopefully since I've been paying them every month for the past 16 months, then will do something so we can refinance..
