Pop up drain will not unsrew
I have a step on pop up style bathtub drain that is draining slow. I am trying to pull stopper out to clean it out. I have tried unscrewing it counter clockwise and it continues to turn but never really loosens. What do I do?

If this is your stopper,(see image) then simply loosen the set screw, as shown, and pull up. Good luck, Tom

Firstly, I would like to thank you on behalf of Tom for awarding him with a negative mark for his attempt to help you. But anyway...

The drain is called "Touch Down" drain. The movable part should unscrew. Most of them unscrew. Be patient with it. Make sure you are not twisting upper part of the closer plug only but also its axis. Grab the drain, pull it upwards and slowly twist counter-clock-wise. There is either 3/8" or 1/4" brass screw in the middle.

I have seen some early models of the step-on drains that had a small set screw. But they are not common. If that's the case than it is very hard to locate and even harder to unscrew. You will have to play with it...

What is written on the top of the stopper ? Can you post a photo of it ?

    Thanks Milo,
    Now vshartrn,
Your negative mark was uncalled for but I'll still attempt to help you if you promise not to "bad report" me in the future.
Would this be your stopper? (see image) If it is then follow Milos advice.
    Good luck, Tom
