I purchased a used Canon BJ-W9000. I ran the self-check and it works fine. But I have problem connect this printer to my PC. I have the PC installed SCSI HD-50 adaptor already. I even called Canon service center and they told me to create a new port type then a new local port. I got stuck there. The PC won't let me create a new port type when I located the driver.

Does anyone know how to create a new port type with Canon's driver?

Creating a new port is not a function of the print driver.

Personally, I didn't know that Canon put a SCSI interface on their printers.

Lately the Canon printers I've seen are USB, Firewire or Networked.

Thank you so much for your time. But after I double checked the printer, I still found the HD-50 the only interface. It is a Canon BJ W-9000, a fairly old model but functional. Thanks again!

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that SCSI ported printers were still out there.

To create a new port go to control panel, from there go to printers. "Right click" on your printer and select "Properties." Properties is the last item on the drop down menu.

Select The Ports from the top of the "Properties" and define your new port.

OK, let's try it this way. Go into you System Properties and get the type of CPU, the clock speed of your system and I would also need to know the operating system you are running.
