Attempting to remove fiberglass shower pan. Lead around drain pipe holding it in place. Is there a way to heat/melt the lead to make removal easier?

Drill lead with largest, small drill bit you can. Drill holes through lead to oakum, after having drilled out enough of the lead to create a small gap in lead pick/pull out remainder with screwdriver and pliers.
