I have finally found the only woman I'll ever want in my life. She is a boat captain and our plan is to sail the world on our own sailboat in a year or so. I would really love to marry this woman at sea AND have it recognized in the US without the hassle of a cruise ( really just us and the captain/witness would be perfect). Does anyone has any suggestions ?
If the wedding is in US waters, get a marriage license from the state where the waters are attached.

Thanks for the reply. Does the marriage need to take place inside the 3 mile limit of international waters to be legal ? Also, does the boat captain need to be an official witness such as a judge, notary...

You may wish to ask the clerk at the court if they accept any type of marine marriage license that can be accepted by their court.
