Can a dog take asprin low does for pain
One of my dogs back leg is giving out, his brother had an operation and for the life of me I can not remember the tendon or Crucial something it's called. Any way, Angus can barley walk tonight and has been lifting his leg in pain. Can I give him low dose of asprin till the vet opens Monday??

It's cruciate ligament. And I think that you can give them aspirin, but I don't know the dosage. I'm torn on questions like this... I'd recommend seeing a vet first, but this doesn't seem life-threatening, and of course it's the weekend and you would have to go to the emergency hospital. Does your vet have a number you can call and see if they can give you advice until Monday? If you think it's a torn tendon/ligament, your best bet is to try and keep the dog from moving much until the vet can see it, and being in pain might help to limit the movement. On the other hand, I'd hate to see the dog suffer until Monday.
