Can anyone name the movie this scene may have come from?.
Two cops walk into an old house. A record player is playing, antiques decorate the front room. The cops are overwhelmed with pungent odor exuding from dining room... Upon entering they discover a family (older people) of rotted corpses , dressed in birthday hats, dead at the dining room table. The family may have been linked to the killer they are trying to find.

This is a scene me and a couple of my siblings remember vividly, but don't recall any other details of the movie.

Sounds like a scene from the film Just Cause with Sean Connery and Larry Fishnurne. Not sure if that's it, but I hope it helps :)

The movie you describe sounds like the film seven starring brad pitt and morgan freeman but I may be wrong

It does sound like "Seven", but I know that movie well, It's not that one.

So, was that the one? I was thinking it was one of the stepfather movies, the guy that kills the whole family, and then moves and changes his image to move in with another family. You say older people, so maybe not, I just noticed that detail, and I don't think they were rotted either, sorry!

It's definitely Just Cause... that was one of the most disgusting horrific scenes I have ever seen in the movies.

Ok... I think it's from the movie Just Cause with Sean Connery but I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure that is it... but I don't remember the birthday hats! Hope that helped
