Hi, my name is Leslie. I have an english bulldog that all of a sudden stopped drinking water. I have taken him to the vet and a full blood panel done. Results were "picture perfect". He was dehydrated, and ever since he will not have anything to do with water. I tried tricking by putting water in soda bottles anything and he gets near water and turns the other way. I have been giving him frozen chicken bullion ice cubes (he will not even eat a water ice cube, must be flavored). The vet says I cannot keep giving him sugared drinks, and I tried the splenda approach and still won't drink. Any suggestions from anyone who has experienced this, your knowledge is needed. Try feeding him a soupy food. Besides, you can't see him 24/7 if he absolutely doesn't drink water. Dog drinks but not a lot. Just keep the water around. If you want to force him to drink, have big needleless syringe ready, fill it with water then squirt it on his throat. Close his mouth tillhe completely swallowed the water.
