    Crown causing odor and pain
I have had a crown on this tooth for about 4 years, I have noticed for the last 3 1/2 or so years that I have had some foul smelling breathe. Finally realized that it was coming from that crowned tooth when I floss it gets really bad.
I also have some discomfort under this crown. Some days none at all, and some days I can feel it throbbing lightly.
    * Seems like when I floss the silver of the crown comes off on my floss, like it's cheaply made or something.
    * also my floss seems to get stuck when I am flossing that tooth.

If this is indeed a bad crown that needs to be replaced, would I be able to say Hey Mr.Dentist, this should have lasted me more then 4 years and he should replace it or is there not much of a "warranty" for how long a crown should last? Lol
I don't have insurance, and paid out of pocket full exspense when I received this crown.

    Thanks for all your help!

Chances are you have some bacteria going on under the crown.

Was a root canal done prior to the crown being put on?

The fact that there is the bad odor, and the throbbing you speak of, I recommend you see a dentist right away.

Even if it does not need to be replaced, he needs to find out what type of bacteria or infection you have going on in there.

    Sooner the better.

It sounds like you might have decay under the crown. I agree with progunr... see a dentist soon so you don't end up needing a root canal or losing the tooth.
