    Isp was cable is now dsl, setup for connection
    My isp was cable and is now DSL. I need to reset settings on wireless router. What is the connection order of equipment? When I go phone line to DSL modem to NETGEAR wireless to computer I get no connection to reset settings. When I go phone to dsl modem to computer I get connection. Where in the line should I put the wireless router?

    Phone Line -> DSL modem -> Netgear router -> Computer
    There should be a small button (may be underneath a hole in the case) to reset the router. I'd push this before hooking everything up (just plug power in to the router). After that, I would hook things up in the following sequence:
    1. Plug phone line into wall and DSL modem
    2. Plug power into DSL modem
    3. Attach Ethernet cable between DSL modem and Netgear router
    4. Plug in power to Netgear router
    5. Attach a second Ethernet cable between Netgear router and computer
    6. Turn on computer

    After applying power to each device, wait a minute or two before proceeding to the next step. This allows time for it to initialize before seeing the next device in the chain.

    Once everything is hooked up, you should be able to go to 192.168.1.1 (or 192.168.0.1, not sure which Netgear uses) with your web browser and set up the router (network name, encryption, etc). Once that is done, you should be able to disconnect the Ethernet cable between the Netgear router and the computer. You should then be able to set up your computer with the wireless characteristics that you entered into the router (encryption key, etc) and it should automagically connect wirelessly.
