    After Break up
K so the storey goes I recently just broke up with my girl cause she just dosen't care about are relationship doesn't care about me and just puts her friends before me.. she tends to flirt with other guys and still has feelings for her boyfriend after a year and a half.. so I called it quits and I don't know at first It didn't bother me like I didn't care but now I think of times we had together and I want to be with her.. she was my first.. but I cannot see this going any further my parents don't like her and she is not a girl you would settle down with.. how do I just get rid of my feelings for her and don't care what she does? The bad news is I do see her every Sunday cause were in this program together.. there are other girls but its hard to start over once you've gone so far with your ex any advice?

You won't ever get rid of the feelings. However, you can drown them out. You will need to get on with the business of living your life, including dating others, working, vacations, friends, volunteering in the community... all the things a life should include. Do it all.

I still remember my first 3 loves quite vividly, and my wife was the 4th and final. All of them are a part of who I am and who I became. And that's fine.

It's painful, but it's a great pain in the long run. You'll be OK.

Take the time to heal, it is obvious that you two were not picked for each other

Take up a new sport or hobby and go to the gym, and in time all will heal/ get repressed and you will find someone new.

When you see her just act like life's good with a big smile on your face and the rest will follow.

Your feelings for her won't go away immediately. These things take time, ecspecially when you've spent sooo much time with someone. But... think about how you felt when she did the things that hurt you so much? And the fact that her heart wasn't in it with you 100% to begin with. Remember the good times but remember why it ended, too. And maybe you should just do the same with her, too. Act as though nothing ever happened. Smile, talk, whatever... without making her think that you care about the relationship that you once had. Good luck to you.
