    Table Cloth Etiquette
Is it considered bad etiquette to serve dinner to guests without a table cloth on the table?

I don't think so, if there are at least place mats. It may depend on just how formal a gathering it is. But I'm no expert. <G>

Out of curiosity, I Googled Miss Manners. Most of the hits were for columns, but on pg 2 was one that said archive. Maybe that'll help.

Very few people use a table cloth these days, except at christmas time.I think it's down to your own personal preference... a table cloth with matching napkins can look very swish, especially if your having a dinner where you'd like to impress.

Equally table mats and a nice centre piece can also look good.
