How to block MSM messenger ?
    Hi All,

I would like to block the MSM port and MSM Software by using Active Directory Controller.

Which port can I block ? Or any other ways to block MSM ?

MSN Instant Messenger uses TCP 1863. You can block this port in your router. If you want to use a rules based blocking with AD Users, then you could use a software based firewall/proxy server such as Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA).

Some routers will allow limited rules based access with the use of Internet Authentication Services running on a Domain Controller. This allows a RADIUS connection so that AD users can be checked against the rules.

Applying TCP/IP filtering with Group Policy at the network level in the TCP/IP configuration advanced properties is limited to selecting what protocols you want to allow. It does not have an exclusion range only for ports you want to disallow.
