How do I go about adopting my son who I have been a dad to since he was 5 months old and he is now coming up for 5 years old?

His dad has to sign away his rights first, then you can adopt him. I think it goes something like your atty draws up the papers, the bio dad signs, then you go to the court and the judge does it. They had to ask me if I wanted to be adopted, etc. I was about his age so it's hard to remember. Good luck.

Get an attorney to drawup the adoption petititon. The attoreny will take care of terminated the bio father's rights.
