The best way to get her treated and diagnosed is to take her to the vet. Don't wait a few days. Take her NOW.
The dog could be eating too fast. Watch it eat and if it is gulping it down then that might be why. You could try spreading it out on a cooking sheet or giving it small quantities throughout the day.
Oops! Missed the date of this posting! That's a pet peeve of mine here, and I just did it! Well CM, you got a greenie out of the deal! Lol.
Missed the date too, but if it helps others...
Your dog most likely has a blockage from eating something it shouldn't have. My dog gets this all the time because he is a brat who won't stop chewing on sticks which creates a blockage in his intestines. Lucky for him he is a spoiled brat so he got some nice surgery to fix his problem.
Another one of my dogs ate some paper towels from the trash and had a blockage the doctor was able to get to pass naturally. Blockages CAN be deadly though so it is important to get your dog to the vet fast!
You are right MissingPieces. That IS why they keep the older threads open. The answers just may help out someone else other than the OP. My dog ripped open garbage for the first time since I've had her, today! I can usually have a bag of her fave treats right within her reach, and she won't touch them until I give them to her. I haven't been feeling well lately, and there has been a lot of chaos going on, and she's been a little ignored. So, she obviously got bored, and decided to get herself some negative attention.
She needs to get back to her regular routine right away, and get more exercise, disipline, and affection, before this becomes a bad habit. It's not her fault that she got into the garbage, it's mine, and up to me to correct it. She's a well behaved girl, and I want to keep it that way, and I know when dogs don't get enough regular exercise to drain their energy, they start acting out, just like a child with no activities would do.
It's never good when a dog is throwing up... unless it's bile in the morning, (that's a yellowy, sometimes frothy substance w/out any food in it). This usually just means the dog tummy is too empty and they feel sick.
Short of you dog having bad habits like garbage picking... Maybe it's as benign as some grass munching, however I doubt it...
If the dog has lost his appetite... and is throwing up a lot... that's a bad scene. Take your baby to the vet ASAP...
