Non IRS Bank Levy in California
My fiancé has a bank levy against him in California. We just recently received some money from my relatives (to be put towards our wedding) and want to open a CD or IRA account. I don't want to put it in his name on the account for fear of it being levied. Is this a valid concern? Can a court seize either a CD or IRA account in the state of California if his name is on the account?

    Thanks for your time.

Yes it is a valid concern... do not put your fiancé name on any bank account, be it joint or otherwise, keep it souly in your name only.

Better to be safe than sorry, where ever he has money it will be swallowed up immediately.
Any monies payable to you both be sure and have it made out in your name only.
