Why does your intended have to go to Canada aren't there states in the U.S. that now recognize same sex marriages?

You sound intimidated or frightened with respect to your intended, why do you want to go through with a marriage to a person that frightens you?

What is your nationality? If you are US citizen or US lawful permanent resident and want to marry for immigration purpose... you can marry him but you can't petition immigrant visa for him.
