    Washer machine draining method
I lived in a house where there is only a crawl space and no basement. I have a utility room/laundry room (however you want to call it) where my furnace, water tank, washer and dryer are in. Most homes I have seen had a laundry tub where the water in the washer machine drains into. Since the room where my washer is in is so small (not big enough to fit a laundry tub) there is a box type of thing that’s about 12 inches long, 5 inches wide that connects to a pipe. The water drains into this box and goes down the drain. Today I just got a new washer machine as the old one broke. The guy from Sears stated that the box I have for draining will not work for my new washer. He stated that the new washer drains fast and a lot of water will be flying out and that I need to replace what I currently have. Do you guys know if this is true? I mean what I have has worked with my previous washer so I don’t understand why I would really need to change it or find some other way to catch the water from my washer when it drains..
