    DTV Digital to analog converter
I apologize for any confusion I gave about the boxes.

On the box it saids Magnavox TB100MW9. DTV Digital to analog converter.. Receives digital over the air signals on your analog TV. SDTV Tuner Watch free digital TV programs with your analog TV.

We were going to stop using cable when I plan expire Nov 30, and use an attic or roof atenna to get channels. Is that how it works? Can we start doing that now?

    Thanks in advance

Pleas, I seriously hope you mean that your cable contract is expiring and not yourself! :)

What you purchased is a converter box that will accept off-air broadcasts in digital format and convert the digital signal back to analog for so that your non digital TV can use the signal.

This presupposes two things, One that your local stations are broadcasting in Digital format and Two that you can receive these signals via your antenna system.

The converter will only work on digital to analog broadcasts. I believe that received analog signals will just be passed through to your TV.

Also, if your antenna system can pick up strong enough signals, then you may be able to pick up more stations then you would normally, however, you will not be able to get the entire range of signals that a cable company or a satellite company can deliver to you.
