Do you mean an answer to a Summons/Complaint?

What are your grounds?

I find this on the State of Texas website. It does not menton any specific format but, of course, you have to list a viable defense. The website also says that if you appear in person the Court Clerk has additional information on answering: "Once the Citation has been served the Defendant must file a written answer to the suit on or before the Monday next following the expiration of ten days, beginning with the date of service."
