    Weight Loss Confusion
Hi. Well First off, I'm 15 years old. My height is about 5 foot. The last time checked the scale at the doctors, which was about 6 months ago, I weighed 160. Which makes no sense because I'm really not fat. I have some fat on me but it's not obesity. My friend's and family all say I have a pretty good figure. I've put in information on sites like My Pyramid. It says I'm obese. So I'm pretty much obese for my size? I really need this to be explained to me why I would weight so much.
I've been on a diet for a while now. I eat 3 meals a day. No snacking. Drink lots of water. Use good portions. I eat pretty well. I get tips from my dad whose a pretty smart guy. I walk most of my day. Its like a little hobby of mine. So I pretty much walk all the time. I exercise for a while every morning and night. Sometimes I jump on the trampoline.
My dad said I lost a lot of weight over the summer. By look of myself, I would probably only need to loose about 10 more pounds. I do not own a scale anymore so I can't see how much I lost.
I do realize that losing weight takes time. And I don't really think there is a fast way.
So any tips? Or any explanation for my obese weight for my size?

    (p.s. - would a picture of me help? )

People carry their weight differently. If you are healthy, eating right, exercising, and aren't unhappy with your weight; why are you wanting to lose weight?

It's good that you don't have a scale around. How do you feel? How do your clothes fit? The tables of average weight for height are not the end all, at all. According to those tables, I am 30 lbs underweight... and I still have some fat to lose. How do you feel? That's what you ask yourself, not how much "should" I weigh.

The pyramid will get you every time! I think it was designed by "waif" supermodels. Lol
The pyramid also states that I am obese... but in fact that is far from the truth. Always remember that muscle weighs more than fat. If you are active (which it sound like you are) you are bound to have some good muscle tone. Chuck the pyramid and the scales!! Live for you and how you feel!

By drinking 1.5 liters of water every morning, as soon as you wake up, you will be able to lose and maintain a normal weight. The water will kind of suppress your apetite and you will want to eat just healthy foods. Remember to eat fruits before meals, because fruits digest faster than bread and other not too good foods... So, once your body absorbs the nutrients of fruit, you will want to eat something light and healthy... Do this for about a week and you will see that your eating habits will positively change. Drink the water every morning and wait for about 45 minutes before you eat anything solid. ;)

Also, it's better to eat more often and eat smaller meals to get your metabolism up if it's not already.

    Today I ate:
    A yogurt.
Crystal Lite Energy On The Go (this really hit me. It made me A LOT more active. It pretty much changed my lifestyle.)
    One Special K Bar.
Crystal Lite (not energy on the go)
Healthy Choice (Chicken & Pasta. Veggies[broccoli & carrots]
    1 cup of green tea.
    3 bottles of water.
2 fiber choice tabloids (which I don't think counts. But added on anyway)
    I also had a multivitamin. (doesn't count)

All this adds up to 376 calories.

    Is that good or bad?

I wasn't very hungry today and I think because my appetite got smaller.

I was 10 times as active than I normally am. (thanks to the Crystal Lite Energy On The Go)

I was also felt very happy and confident =)

376 calories is really low. If you cut your calories too much, when you do eat... your body will want to hang onto all (the calories) that you consume and make it more difficult for you to lose weight (same process as if you do not consume enough water). Your diet sounds OK... but you should really try a little more protein and more fruit and veggies. A really good way to kick off the morning is by adding fresh blueberries and raspberries to your meal/and or snack. They have amazing antioxidants and really seem to kick start a diet. Just be careful not to deprive your body of the essential nutrients that it needs to maintain a healthy balance.

Hope some of that was helpful! Keeps us posted! =)

    Thank you. =)
I had about 80 carbs if I may add on.

But a friend of mine ate the same stuff. (maybe not the TV dinner)
And she lost 3 or 4 pounds a week.
It probably just varies with different people.
But what if it works with me?

this may not matter but, I was born naturally skinny and so is she.

Get your measurements taken. My weight varies 10lbs with what I eat poop and drink. Most gyms will do this for you in an initial assessment. At 6'3 210 I'm considered overweight by my BMI, but I can see my abs.
