My sister. Psychic or not?
My younger sister, emily, believes that she is psychic. I use the word "believes" because I have a feeling it isn't true. There have been a lot of strange "coincidences" but I don't believe she is psychic.
I mean, I think there's a possibility, but the problem is that my step mother (her biological mother) is putting this idea into her head. She assures emily that she sees our dead grandmother, and that she sees angels in her sleep. Emily hasn't once told us this on her own, and when she does, her mother has something to say about it.
However, Emily is protected by a strange force, like a guardian angel or something. When she born, her mother was in labor with her for more than a day, I think around 30 or 32 hours or something like that... Emily's heart beat was lost for a couple minutes, and the doctors were sure that either my stepmother or Emily weren't going to make it. However, both of them did. At that point, I was amazed and happy, but people are saved like this all the time, I thought.
When she was a few months older, she was running around her kitchen. Being a curious little baby, she ran over to a huge, heavy metal cubbard, and tried to open it. There were child locks on it. She got it open, but hung onto the door. The cubbard fell, and my father saved her. My father had came back only a few moments before and ran over and stopped the cubbard. I was relieved and what not, but I still didn't think it was anything special.
This is what changed my mind: A few years later, when my father was building his house, he brought my stepmother, Emily, and my brother mishaal. When Emily and Mishaal were playing in one of the unfinished rooms, Emily slipped on a sheet of glass. THe glass shattered and EMily fellface first. Emily got up and cried, but did not have the slightest scratch or bit of glass on or in her skin. The glass was shattered into bits and pieces, too.
I'm thinking, Emily might not be a psychic, but I believe that she could have an extra careful guardian angel or spirit or something?
