    Toilet Bowl bubbling in basement bathroom
    It was raining last night and I was in the basement and I saw the basement toilet bowl bubbling.The bathroom is located in the front of the house,by the wall of the house where the outside gutters are located. Is it possible that my outside waste gutters are connected to the bathroom toilet waste line?? The toilet flushes without any problems. Is it possible my gutter line is stuffed?

    Any suggestions/ideas would be helpful

    Thanks
    Izzy

    Hey Izzy,

    Sewer or septic tank? It's agaist the law to discharge the gutter runoff, a sump pump, water softener discharge or AC condensate into your sewer line.
    "Bubbles" is a toilet would tend to indicate a partial blockage down stream from the toilet. Do you have more details to give me? Does the toilet bubble when it's not raining? Any other drainage problems? Regards, Tom

    Hi Tom;
    Thanks for your response.
    I just bought the house and moved in last wendsday. I never heard the bubbling noise until yesturday, and it happened to be raining outside at the time. We have used the bathroom but I haven't heard any bubbling sounds before yesturday

    Thanks

    Since we now know it's not a septic tank that needs pumping just keep checking the toilet for unusual activity and then get back to me with more details.. Good luck tom
