    Procedure for exspongement
    I would like to know the procedure for getting a felony charge off my record? I have surpass the time in had to remain on my record. Also I would like to know do I need a Lawer or can I do it myself?

    You're going to need a lawyer. Not to file the paperwork. You can probably do that yourself. But, you're going to need one for the argument... Clearly, you're going to have a prosecutor telling the judge ALL the reasons he SHOULDN'T grant your request, and you need someone equally adept to tell the judge the opposite.

    Yes, you are going to have to prove why it should ( there are some states that do not allow, and some crimes that are not allowed in other states) But you will have to show how after 8 to 10 years, you have held a steady job or advanced in your job. Perhaps how you have increased your education, perhaps worked with the homeless or dedicated your life to some cause. Your attorney has to make it sound like you should be up for sainthood. The other side will explain the crime you did, perhaps read a victim impact letter if they wrote any and try and make you sound like the worst of the worst all over again.
