    This really belongs in teens.

    Stereotyping people won't help you any. If you like her, introduce yourself, invite her to have lunch with you and strike up a conversation.

    emo = "emotional"
    -They are stereotypically into punk-rock music.
    -Wear dark clothing, they really like black. Black clothing, hair, sometimes black nail polish and make-up (even on emo guys).

    -Some negative connotations with the word are that "emo" people are into drugs, and are suicidal. They are commonly 'cutters' and things like that.

    Ch.Momma is right, stereotyping won't help. You don't even know the girl.
    I know a few 'emo' people, and before I truly got to know them, I thought they were just crazy, insane, people that never smiled or laughed. I was very wrong. I am now good friends with someone who looks 'emo'.

    So, get to know her better. Talk to her. Get past appearances or first-impressions and really get to know this girl. Her personality may surprise you!

    Emo is a type of music, not a social class. I hate that type of classification. Anyone should be able to be friends with anyone, regardless of race, creed or "stereotype" get over it

    Just be yourself ! Intrudaduce yourself and see how everyything turns out! If she turns out not liking you just ignore her and don't talk to her!! But if she does like you don't be normal one day and then come to school all emo like! Just be yourself!! And hopfully she'll like you as a friend! Who knows you might become best friends one day!

    Have faith in yourself! I was an "emo gal" at some point when I was younger. Believe me, emo people look like they don't welcome normal ones but in fact, they do if they're healthy enough ( I said this because I know there's some kind of extreme emo people who think they're "rock" but frankly have insecurities that they can't accept anyone different from them, I bet you never want to get close to those ones).

    Just come to her and ask if she wants to have a drink/lunch or something. If she rejects then at least you don't have to wonder :D
