    Leak from bathroom sink bowl
    I had an inspector come in my condo and he said the bathroom sink bowl was leaking after running water for 5 minutes. I had a master plumber look at the sink and could not find any leaks even after filling the bowl many times and even letting it overflow into the overflow area. This is the only sink in the house that has the outside facuet attached to it. The temperature here is 90 and where the condo has been empty, the air conditioing is not on. I also lived in this condo for 10 years and never had that sink leak. My question is-could this be condensation from the pipes and sink being warm and then running water for 5 minutes will cause condensation? There is no cracks in the bowl and this is the only sink "leaking" and the only one with an outside wall. Thanks for your help!

    What does that mean?

    If the condo is empty and the sink is not being used it can't be leaking. You might have a leak in the supply lines under the sink but surely you or the plumber would have seen that. You may have a leak in the supply pipes in the walls. Depending on condo by-laws that may be your responsibility or it may be the responsibility of the association.


    Who was this inspector, was he an employee of the condo association? Why did he make such a statement.

    Rereading you post. I take it that the sink is on an exterior wall and that there is a hose bib on the outside of that wall.
    Is there a pipe connected to your cold water pipe under the sink, that goes through the wall to the hose bib? Is there a shut off valve on that pipe?

    Leaking where? Into the cabinet or into the drain ?
