Excessive bleeding, clotting and cramping in the mid 40s age range
I am in my mid 40's and for the last several months during my monthly periods, I have been experiencing heavy menstrual bleeding with large clots and increasing cramping, this has not been my normal routine. I am unable to take hormonal therapy . In the past I have taken pamprin or midol and have found some relief, however the last 4 months this has not worked. I am wondering if there is anything else that I could or should be doing. Help Please

    Hi oceanbutterfly

I would visit the Doctor get further advice, especially as you say it's not your usual routine. You don't comment on your general health... are you feeling tired etc.. because this could affect your blood iron.

Your Doctor is the best person to speak to who can also perform any necessary blood tests you might need.

I have heard that when nearing menopause, some women's cycles take a full 180. Meaning, women who have very light cycles start feeling like they ar elosing every drop of blood in their body, and women who have very heavy cycles start to bleed so lightly they think they aren't even having a period at all. So, I would say to go see a doctor. Who's to say that menopause is even the problem?
