How do I keep rabbits from eating my flowering plants and herbs AND how do I keep chipmunks from digging up my flower garden?
Garlic. Plant garlic in your flower beds, the smell and the taste will drive away the little pests.
Here's a humane safe way to keep rabbits out of your garden

The chipmuks, I don't know, sorry. Hope the site helps.
Good luck.
I plant garlic bulbs in all of my gardens... flower and herb alike. I have no predators that eat any of my flora. I also plant garlic bulbs in my house plants... voila no bugs.
I know marigolds don't work.
Cats don't work... they get to lazy or at least mine did.
My husband took a 5 gallon green pail/bucket and turned it upside down in my garden and my plants are now beautiful... I am supposing they are afraid of it.
I have heard that garlic works. The only bunnies I have in my garden are my 4 pet bunnies, so I've never tried the garlic solution.
The link that I posted is completely human and kid and animal friendly, I do believe that garlic is one of the ingredients.
Planting garlic sound like a good plan, definitely cheaper then any other remedy.
Good luck.
You see, when the plants are watered, the water is absorbed through the roots... when the garlic gets wet it too is absorbed through the roots. The pests don't like the smell or taste of garlic, and it is too mild for us humans to detect, so it works wonders and is totally humane and natural.Quote:
