    Renting a foreclosed house
We are renting a house through a property management company. We came home one day to have a deed of trust letter taped to our front door. The house is going up for auction in 2weeks. Do we have any rights as tenants? We are not able to find the owner. How do I find her? We want our security deposit back and are our past rent payments owed to us? Help!

    Thank you:confused:

What does the property management company say?

I do not believe you're entitled to your rent payments back. If you could find the owner you'd have a good case to sue her for your security deposit, but I doubt you'd ever see a dime.

This is one of those unfortunate situations where there's not a whole lot you can really do. You can waste a lot of energy being really mad ,etc. Or you can put that into finding a new place to live and moving on. (Believe me... I'd be HOPPING mad.) In foreclosures the tenants just don't really have a lot of recourse.
