    Navajo silver hallmark JR identification
I have a bracelet, Navajo made I think, that I inherited from my late aunt. An instructor at my community college said he thought the turquoise stone was lavender Bisbee and he thought it was made in the 1950s to 1960s or possibly earlier. The hallmark on it is JR inscribed by hand, not stamped.

I've looked at the only 2 books my library has on southwestern Native American jewelry with no success. Can anyone identify this silversmith and help me find out about him and the value of the bracelet? I'm thinking of selling it to help pay for my education... depends on how much I could get for it. Thank you in advance for any suggestions or assistance.

IF the initials JR are hand signed in cursive and have six dots above it the piece is probably Jimmie King JR check e-pueblo.com for more info. Hope this helps.

According to Barton Wright's Hallmarks of the Southwest, JR could stand for Jane Quam, Joe Reano, Jerry Roan Jr. or Joyce Romancito (p.201). Sorry I can't be more specific.
